Game Mechanics
A reference for how core game systems work in Grow A Garden 2.
Crop Pricing
The sell price of a crop is determined by a formula that factors in the crop's base value, its weight, and any active mutations:
- Base Value: A fixed number unique to each crop type (e.g. Carrot = 5).
- Weight: The mass of the harvested fruit in kg — heavier fruit is worth more. Weight is affected by watering and sprinklers.
- Mutation Multipliers: Each active mutation stacks multiplicatively (e.g. Gold 15× + Electric 80× = 1200× combined).
Fruit Decay
Harvested fruit that is left sitting in the world — not sold or picked up — will decay over time. Decayed fruit loses 80% of its original sell value, leaving only 20% of what it would have fetched when fresh.
- Decay applies to fruit that has been harvested but not yet sold at the Sell Stand.
- Sell your crops promptly — especially high-value mutated fruit — to avoid value loss.
- Fruit in your inventory does not decay; decay only occurs to world-placed fruit.
Dropping Items
Players can drop items from their inventory by pressing Backspace (PC) or using the drop button on mobile/console. Dropped items appear in the world and can be picked up by any player.
- Dropping fruit near the Sell Stand is a common way to bulk-sell quickly.
- Dropped items are subject to the fruit decay mechanic if left uncollected.
- Stolen fruit cannot be dropped until you return to your own garden.
Inventory
Each player starts with a base inventory. Capacity can be expanded with Robux:
- Backpack Space: Increases in increments of 50 slots. Upgrade costs scale from
79 up to
999. - Single Slot Upgrade: Add one extra slot for
19. - The inventory is divided into segments for crops, gears, and pets.
Sheckle Packs
Players can purchase Sheckles directly with
Robux. Gift variants are available for every pack so you can send Sheckles to friends.
| Amount | Price |
|---|---|
| 5,000 Sheckles | 10 |
| 10,000 Sheckles | 20 |
| 25,000 Sheckles | 50 |
